Born Ryan Chase in Barbados, Buggy Nhakente got his start at age seven when his uncle handed him a mini radio and a microphone. By 1990 the pursuit was serious — and it never let up. His name says it all: Nhakente, 'the spirit of the people expressed through music.'

Three-time Barbados Reggae Artist of the Year (2007, 2010, 2011), Best Reggae Single winner, Video of the Year 2009. He built FullyLoaded, Barbados' premier reggae band, and became an annual fixture at Reggae on the Hill. He toured Canada, the UK, and over 50 US cities, sharing stages with Sizzla, Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, Shaggy, Sean Paul, Jah Cure, Queen Ifrica, Tony Rebel, Anthony B, Ja Rule and Ashanti. First reggae artist ever to perform at Liverpool's Paul McCartney Auditorium. First Barbadian artist to grace the stage at Jamaica's Rebel Salute.

With collaborations alongside Sizzla ('The Family,' 'So In Love') and the Penthouse Records-produced hit 'Just A Man,' Buggy's mission has never changed: spread love in all its forms, to all walks of life, through conscious music.
